Friday night notes - Well, the mixer was a large success we had 350 people show up (at least 100 more than were registered, including one from the missing person list). 4 kegs were floated so Jay, Jaime and Mike went for 2 more. I think at least one of the last two was also floated.

Picnic notes - Don't have any numbers for the turn out for the picnic, but if lines are any indication, the clown was a big hit.

Dinner/Dance notes - We served 280 dinners and more showed up after dinner, so we probably had over 300 attend the Saturday night event. All I can say is that the food was wonderful and a good time appeared to be had by all. Lynn Eberhardt traveled the longest distance to attend (Manhatten); Laura Little Montelongo has been married the longest time (21 plus years); Joseph Dove has the most kids (6) and David Vann won the most interesting thing I've done with his (I met my wife at our 10 year reunion).

I took some pictures and will try to get them scanned and posted on the web site as soon as possible, but there were lots of people with cameras and I'd appreciate it if they would share the photos they took. I wasn't at the Memorial Service, so I don't have any pictures of that. I don't have very many from the picnic itself either. They can either scan them and email them to me (jgoss@digitalpassage.com) or mail them to me, I'll scan them and return them. My mailing address is 1602 Melissa Drive, Graham, Texas 76450.

There will be a photo service at the reunion events who will be taking group and individual photos. They will put together a photo album (magazine style) of the various pictures they take. The cost is $25.00 ($20 for the book and $5 for shipping) for the album. They will be taking the photos. If you are not attending the reunion, you can still get a copy of the memory book. To order one, go to www.photomemorybooks.com. Down towards the bottom of the web page click on Order a Memory Book from Your Event. It will take you to an order blank OR you can mail a check for $25.00 to The Dunning Company, PO Box 759, Theodore, Alabama 36590. Include your name and mailing address and tell them it's for the San Angelo Central Class of 1981 Reunion held on October 5 & 6, 2001.

Terry Baldwin, a classmate of ours, emailed me to let me know that he would not be able to attend the reunion. He is a Gunnery Sargeant in the US Marine Corps. To send Terry a note of encouragement, his email address is herbalife63@hotmail.com.

Another classmate, Jimmy Nichols, has been told to be prepared to fly on 18 hours notice. Jimmy's email is jimmyandpatricia@yahoo.com. We need to keep these classmates and others protecting America's freedom in our thoughts and prayers.

Gary Paul Abee wrote and said he will not be able to make it. He and his family live in Germany. He asked for the prayers of the servicemen and women who have been activated for this war. Paul has been in the Department of Defense for 14 years and has first hand experience of the movements and actions of our military. Paul's email is gpabee@t-online.de.

You don't have to have actually graduated from Central to be included with the Class of 1981. If you know of someone who went to school with our class, but moved off before graduation, please let us know their address if you think they'd be interested in attending the reunion. I'm a perfect example of this. I ended up graduating from Lake View, but I went to school with the Central people for 10 1/2 years. We want to include anyone who would like to be included.

We plan on keeping the website up and updated. That means if you locate one of the classmates on the Missing List we still want to know about it. The list has been updated with information received as of October 2, 2001 and there are still 153 names on the list. Considering the size of the list that we started with (so large it had to be broken down into 3 lists to fit on the web site), I think we've done a very good job of locating our missing classmates.

If you have a gold membership at Classmates, you might try to email some of those with (Classmates) by their name. I haven't had much success getting them to respond.

This is Web Page Two. Click on the link below to take you to the original web page. The original pages of pictures are still over there. I've added links on the appropariate pages of this web site back to the original pictures to make it easier to access them. I plan on adding more pictures pages to this site, so please send me your pictures.

Please don't forget to sign the Guestbook so we'll know you've stopped by for a visit. The Guestbook is the same on both sites, so you only need to sign it once, but please take the time to sign.

I have been informed that John Alcala is in Afghastian with the US Military. Please add him and his family to your prayer list.

Sherri Graham Neal's mother passed away. Sherri's husband passed away right before our reunion.

I got my proofs in the mail today (11/21/01) from the Reunion, so everyone ought to be receiving theirs soon. They have several photo packages to choose from.

When you are looking at the pictures I've posted, if you know the name of someone who is in the photo and I don't have it listed, please let me know. By the way, I don't have any pictures from the Memorial Service, so if you have some, please let me know.

Jaime Morales did a wonderful job on the name tags. I wanted everyone who didn't attend to see them, so I used Shari Templin and her husband Paul Horne as an example. The graduate was in blue with their picture from the Sr. Annual. The spouse was in orange. Let me tell you, the name tags really helped in some instances. On Friday night, I was at the registration table and some people were hard to recognize. There were a lot who I needed help with.

Got this email from Dee Wright Knossel:

I just got the bad news our classmate David Bradshaw was in a motorcycle wreck Tuesday (Oct 16). He is in a San Antonio hospital with the first vertibra is cracked the second and third are shattered and the fourth and fifth are dislocated. They are saying he'll never walk again however those who know David know he will do everything in his power to prove them wrong when I find out more I will let you know.Plese post this on the webpage so we can add him to the prayer list

An update from Rev. Don Robinson on the Lasater family:

The hospital released Faith and she is at home! I spoke with him at length on yesterday and he was continually praising God for the blessings that his family has received. Faith is undergoing chemo now and will be for the next 18 months. She only has to go in once a month. She also has to visit the doctor once a week. She is only two years old and I can't imagine watching my child undergo treatments she is faced with. But, as Connell stated, "God provides."

We are blessed to count as a our classmate Connell Lasater. He and his wife Susan are, to me, the epitome of "faith in action." Connell has a testimony that he continues to share and he sees this struggle, this test, this "event" as an opportunity to share Christ. In a day when everything seems so fleeting and it a joy to hear a fire and passion and the voice of a man who truly loves God!

Continue to pray for them. The future unfolds daily as they hold their daughter tighter and move further in their trust in God. It is an honor for me to write these words and to know there are classmates praying for the Lasaters and for little Faith.

The Lasater's new home address is:
2532 Quail Glen
Carrollton, TX 75006
New home number: (972)416-8456

If you would like to send an email to Connell and his family, send it in care of Rev. Don Robinson. Don's email is dro1964@hotmail.com. Don said he would print out any emails received and take them to the Lasater family.

This also from Rev. Don Robinson:

Let us also remember Maura Allen Gast's sister Jane in our prayers. She endured a 12-hour surgery recently. She is in Zale Lipshy Hospital in Dallas. She is weak physically, but her spirit soars above the clouds as she laughs and praises God's goodness. Pray for Maura, her husband and the father and mother as they continue to watch over Jane in the coming days in weeks.

There may be others we are unaware. Please share as the opportunity presents itself. I am a true believer in that the "fervent, effectual prayers of the righteous availeth much." God bless each of you. I look forward to seeing you this weekend.
